So, I got an email from another author the other day looking for blurbs to put on her website, basically either snippets of a book or an original short story. I thought that sounded great, so I went over to check out what others had posted before crafting my own. I came across one by Elaine Corvidae. I thought, "Hey, that's another Mundania author! Let's see what she wrote!"
What she wrote was "A Treasure In And Of Itself" - a 4600-word short story that just captivated me! I immediately ordered the Elaine Corvidae book mentioned in the post, "The Crow Queen".
So, now I am completely intimidated to post on the site! Mrs? Miss? Corvidae's story is just great! I will craft something, if for no other reason that in my one experience, a reader (me) subsequently bought one of the author's books (Crow Queen). So, my intimidation now leads me to believe that most authors, like artists of all sorts, tend to be under confident in their own work and easily bruised. Why is that? The vulnerability of presenting something for others to read is indescribably exhilarating, and equally fearsome. Anyway, I guess the point is Kudos, Elaine! Awesome story! Can't wait to read the book! I guess it's my turn in the pickle barrel now! (What's that saying mean? Pickle barrel? Good question!)
