I'm a father of three struggling with the duality of being a writer while holding down a "real" job as well.

My life story...starts boring and gets worse...

Born in the South (TN/GA border). Raised there where it is really HOT. Not much to tell from the youth. Raised on a farm.

Went to college and studied pre-med. Met the girl of my deams (and eventually convinced her to marry me)
After college, went to grad school (Pre-med didn't work out so I went into General Biology). Ran out of money. Became a firefighter.

Did that for ten years before finding a career that seems to fit, which is writing of course! My day job is just meant to support "the craft". Most of you know what I mean...except for those who do what they truly love already (Who are those? Rock stars, pro athletes, actors, teachers and politicans?)

I have had more jobs than I have digits on my hands and feet, but it looks like I am set now. Work during the day, wrestle with my kids in the evening, write till midnight, sleep, drag my bleary-eyed self out of bed at the crack of dawn and repeat.

Enough about me...let's talk about something interesting!
